Suncoast Spinners has coaching opportunities from junior club through to our senior programs. 

Historically throughout the wheelchair basketball community, clubs have relied on player/coach roles to support teams when competing in competition. Generally coaching responsibilities fall to parents or experienced players. We call on all members to support our programs and teams through developing your coaching skills through online and in person coaching courses provided by BQ and local basketball associations. 

The volunteer coach role is fundamental to the development of players, coaches, pathways in sport and of the game of wheelchair basketball in Australia.

Whether you are coaching a team of beginners who are just learning to love the sport, Kids Club, club or representative teams, we hope you enjoy coaching Everyone’s Game.

Basketball Queensland (BQ), in partnership with our Associations and Clubs, host a number of coaching accreditation courses and events throughout the year.

Registration and accreditation are the first steps in helping to guide and develop your own growth as a coach and to better assist your players’ coaching experience.

• Basketball associations run coaching courses throughout the year open to the general public, follow your local basketball club for their next coaching clinic.
• We encourage all our volunteer coaches to engage in the online learning which includes the Community Coaching General Principles (level 0) certificate which you can find on the Basketball Queensland Coaching Accreditation levels and courses page. Click here to go to the page.
• To complete any BQ coaching level and course you will need to download the BQ Coaches App. Download the BQ Coaches App below.
• Once registered as a coach you are a member of Basketball Queensland coach community through the BQ Coaches App. Get quick access to drills, videos and documents, keep track of your Accreditation and download coaching certificates, and book into upcoming courses and clinics.
