Competition Selection Criteria

Selection Criteria is based on the following:

More specifically:

  • Positional balance of the team (a range of roles to allow for classification and team roles which lead to on-court balance).

  • Skill development
  • Demonstrated attitude and commitment toward team cohesion

The team may include 2 Invitational National League players to ensure teams play to points and the competition is equitable.

Similar format to Qld Regional Challenge with draw reflective of team nominations. Same cost of $90 per player.

Multiple teams from each region will be accepted at this event

Combination teams will be accepted where required eg Cairns and Townsville join to form North Qld.

Due to time of year / travel, invitational players will be allowed to join each team. In October we had a cap of 2 per team, this has been relaxed.

Maximum of 1 ‘Restricted’ Player per team. A restricted player averaged 15min + per game in the NWBL 2019.

Maximum of 2 NWBL players per team (inc the 1 restricted player)

Each team must have a nominated coach. A coach from the NWBL/WBWBL program can be appointed to assist if required.

Female players, all players Under 16 and all players Over 50 will be granted a 1 point deduction if not a restricted or NWBL player. Maximum of 2 deductions on court at the same time.
